Empty Nest is an NBC American sitcom created by Susan Harris as a spin-off from the hit show, " The Golden Girls ".  The premise for Empty Nest was based around a pediatrician, Dr. Harry Weston, who has recently become a widower.  Harry's two adult daughters, Carol and Barbara, move back home for their own reasons and to help their father.
