Beauty and the Beast was inspired by the fairy tale and is a modern day imagining of that much beloved story. When Catherine Chandler is abducted, beaten and left for dead in Central Park, she is rescued by the beastly Vincent. Vincent lives amongst a group of outcasts in the underground sewers and subway passages which the outcasts call 'Tunnel World'. After Catherine gains their trust, they view her as a helper to the community.
