Silver Spoons was an American sitcom television show that aired on NBC from September 25, 1982 to March 4, 1987 for a total of five seasons and run 115 episodes.  Each show was 22 minutes in length and was originally produced by Embassy Television.  The title of the show was based on an expression that rich kids are born with a silver spoon in their mouth and are given only the very best and do nothing in return.

The main character, Ricky Stratton, played by Ricky Schroder lives with his wealthy father, Edward Stratton, played by Joel Higgins.  Young Ricky was originally sent to live at a Boarding School but then was offered by his father to move into the mansion with him after the father found out that after only being married to Ricky's mother seven days, a son was produced out of the 7 day marriage.  The plot centers around how the father figure is trying to teach his son how to enjoy his childhood, while the son figure is trying to teach his dad how to have a little more adult responsibility.
