Different Strokes was a thirty minute comedy series that aired on NBC for a total of seven seasons from November 3, 1978 to March 7, 1986, with it's final season airing on ABC, and had a total of 189 episodes.
 
Different Strokes was about a very wealthy white man, Phillip Drummer, who made a promise to his black housekeeper that was dying that he would raise her two children after she passed.  The two boys moved from Harlem to a beautiful home on Park Avenue.  Situations such as racism, drug use and child molestation amongst other serious issues were explored on each episode.
