Operation Petticoat was an American sitcom that was adapted from a 1959 comedy movie, starring Tony Curtis and Cary Grant, by the same name. The premise of the show was similar to the film in that a group of female Army nurses finds their way onto a Navy combat submarine, and the comedy that ensues onboard, with the submarine somehow being painted pink.
An interesting connection between the film and the series was the casting of Jamie Lee Curtis, Tony Curtis' daughter, as one of the female nurses on the submarine.
32 episodes aired on ABC from September 17, 1977 to October 26, 1978
