S.W.A.T. was an American television series from the 1970's which ran for two seasons from February 17th, 1975 to April 3rd, 1976 and a total of 37 episodes were shot, however three of them never aired. It ran on ABC for 60 minutes each episode. The show was a spin-off of The Rookies which also ran from 1975-1976.
S.W.A.T. starred Steve Forrest as the leader of the unit of the Los Angeles Police Department of Special Weapons and Tactics division formed by former Police Chief Darryl Gates. Most of the situations the team encounter are dangerous and include hostages. The show was a fast, action-packed police drama.
