Born Free is an adventure series focusing on wildlife preservation, based on the 1966 movie of the same name.  Produced by Columbia Pictures, the program was shown on NBC in 13 episodes from September 9 to December 30, 1974.

It was an adventure series with the emphasis on wildlife preservation.  George and Joy Adamson are a couple living in Kenya with their adopted lioness, Elsa.  They struggle to protect the animals in the surrounding area from all sorts of danger, both natural and human.

There was also a movie in 1996 called Born Free: A New Adventure starring Linda Purl and Chris Noth.
