The Apple family move from hectic Los Angeles to the small town of Appleton, Iowa which was founded by the family's ancestors, in this mid-70's television dramedy show aired on CBS. The Apples consisted of George and Barbara Apple and their children, Paul, Cathy, Steven, and Patricia.
The first season was written in a sitcom format but the show did not catch on with audiences in this format. For the second season, the show shifted into a one hour dramatic show, with some comedic scenes. However, this failed to resonate with audiences also, and thus the show was cancelled.
