Emergency! was a medical drama plus action adventure series that was a spinoff from Adam-12, which came from a spinoff of Dragnet .  It ran for seven seasons from January 15, 1972 to June 26, 1978 and had a total of 134 episodes.  This was one series that ran a full hour. The work of the paramedics of Squad 51 of the Los Angeles County Fire Department Rescue Division.

Emergency! showcases the fast life of the paramedics of Los Angeles County Fire Dept. Station 51, John Gage and Roy Desoto. Together they respond to emergencies ranging from false alarms to huge accidents. During this time, they must be counseled by licensed medical experts through the radio. The employees of Rampart Hospital come into scene with doctors Brackett and Early, along with the leading nurse, Dixie McCall, helping the paramedics with their job. 

The series was based on the beginining years of the paramedics program. Each episode has to do with a different situation that takes place and the firemen, paramedics and hospital staff all work together in response to the current situation.
