Room 222 was an American comedy-drama that ran for five seasons and aired a total of 113 episodes on ABC from September 17th, 1969 to January 11th, 1974.

The program was very popular, earning Emmy Awards in three different categories -- Outstanding New Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Michael Constantine, who played Mr. Seymour Kaufman, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Karen Valentine, who portrayed the character, Miss Alice Johnson.

The storyline centered around an African American school teacher, Pete Dixon, who was a teacher for Room 222.  He was a very compassionate and easygoing teacher and the students admired him and looked up to him.  The topics on the episodes dealt with normal teenage issues but also touched base on political issues as well.
