My World and Welcome to It was an American sitcom based on the cartoons of James Thurber and aired on NBC.  My World and Welcome to It is based on the life and imagination of John Monroe, a writer and cartoonist for a fictional magazine called "The Manhattanite", which many take as a loose interpretation of the real magazine "The New Yorker", which James Thurber worked for.
