Julia was an American sitcom that was 30 minutes in length and aired on NBC for three seasons from September 17th, 1968 to March 23rd, 1971 and a total of eighty six episodes. It was one of the first American Television series that depicted women who were African American in a non stereotypic role.
The main character a widowed single mother, Julia Baker worked as a nurse. She had a son and had lost her husband in a plane crash. Each episode revolved around being a single working African American mom.
