Airing for 98 episodes on CBS from September 26, 1964 to April 17, 1967, the setting was an uncharted island in the South Pacific. Shipwrecked after a tropical storm at sea, the seven members of the sightseeing charter boat, the S.S. Minnow, develop a community after all attempts to contact the outside world fail.  Stories relate their struggle for survival, and their endless attempts to be rescued despite their constant foiling by the bumbling actions of the first mate, Gilligan.
