The Combat television show was an hour long war action series that aired on ABC for a total of five seasons from October 2, 1962 to August 29, 1967 and a run of 152 episodes. The first 4 seasons aired in black and white.
The plot centered around the actions of the United States Army Second Platoon during World War II. The episodes were very realistic in that they portrayed what day to day life was like during the war, trying to release Europe from Nazi control. The show made it a point to always put a face to the killing and sadness of war to really get the point across in regards to what the American soldiers had to endure on a daily basis.
