Car 54, Where Are you? Also known just as car 54 was first aired on NBC in 1961. Most filming for the series was done on location in the Bronx, New York. This was one of the first sitcoms that ever featured characters from a variety of ethnical backgrounds. The series ran for two seasons from September 17, 1961 to September 8, 1963 and a total of 60 episodes.
Car 54 revolved around the adventures of New York Police Department officers, Gunther Toody and Francis Muldoon. Their patrol car was #54. Toody's character was a very short, stocky build and not so intelligent where as his partner, Muldoon was more of a tall, slender built man and his level of intelligence was quite a bit more significant then Toody. Together these two men in this black and white comedy try to fight the crime in New York City . Although, they make many mistakes together, they are both ultimately good men trying to fight crime and help others around them in any way they can.
