The Tall Man is a Western series that aired on NBC from September 10, 1960 to September 1, 1962 starring Barry Sullivan as Pat Garrett and newcomer Clu Gulager as Billy the Kid (William Bonney).  The show aired 75 fictionalized black and white half-hour episodes about the relationship between the famous outlaw and the frontier sheriff who eventually killed him. Unfortunately, no final episode depicting the grim conclusion was filmed. Memorably, the series opened each week with a shot of extremely a long shadow cast by Sullivan on a western street (the 'tall man).
