The main character, Gladys Porter, who is married to Pete Porter, is a nagging, annoying wife on the show December Bride .  She would complain and moan about everything Pete did, but when it became the Pete and Gladys show her character was portrayed as a normal and pleasant wife.  The downfall was the show did not last as long as it possibly could have had they kept her character as a nag.
