My Three Sons aired on ABC from 1960-1965 and then on CBS from 1965-1972.  The show ran for twelve seasons from September 29th, 1960 to April 13th, 1972 and a total of 380 episodes of which 184 were Black and White and the other 196 were in Color.  This comedy was an American situation comedy and it was the 2nd longest running family sitcom. 
 
The series was about a Scots-American Family that followed the life of a widower, Steven Douglas who worked as a aeronautical engineer and the situations he dealt with on a daily basis raising his three sons alone.  In certain episodes, the father had to fend off advancements from women who wanted to replace his past wife and move in on what they saw as a family almost complete.  However, this father's only goal was to watch his children grow up.
