Captain Midnight was a television show that first started as a radio program from 1938 to 1949.  It then began as a television show and aired on CBS from September 4, 1954 to January 21, 1956. 

The series was about a World War II veteran who would fight evil people all over the world.  The title character was Captain Jim 'Red' Albright, an Army pilot.  He was head of asecret squadron, and he and his comic sidekick, Icky, and the rest of the members of the squadron would travel all over the world and try to defeat evil.
