Very long running family saga, based largely on the actual actors involved. The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet starred the real-life Nelson family as themselves. All of the problems of a family are shown as the two young boys grow up before the TV audience's eyes. As the sons age we go through their teenage dating problems, then marriage, and their careers. Ricky became a rock and roll star. David joined a law firm.

Ozzie lets Ricky stay up late to watch TV, and lets David use bar bells.

David invites the family out for dinner at a nightclub.

A Busy Christmas (12/19/1956)

Ozzie is talked into acting as Santa for the Men's Club and also as Scrooge in a short play. He is also asked to sing Christmas Carols, with all three performances happening on the same night. He tries hard to get a Christmas tree and put up decorations on the house.

A Hairstyle for Harriet (01/09/1957)

Ozzie does his best to keep Harriet from changing her hairstyle.

The Duenna (02/06/1957)

When David dates a Spanish girl Ozzie goes along to accompany her guardian: who happens to be a knock-out and very amorous.

Ozzie tries to get Harriet, David, and Rick to do more reading.

Ozzie is chosen as the first civilian to fly in a new jet plane.

A sea captain, who is an old buddy of Ozzie's from Rutgers, comes to visit the Nelsons.

David wants to get a job as a law clerk based on his own merit, but finds that everyone is out to help him.

David plays detective to follow a sinister character.

Fathers' Night at the Fraternity (12/02/1959)

David, Rick, and Wally plan a Dad's Night at the fraternity to hit their fathers up for money towards a new pool for the house.

Rick borrows David's car just in time for a pretty girl to smash up the fender. She facetiously offers to be Rick's “slave” to pay off the debt, and Rick accepts.

Joe gives the Nelsons a dreadful table that he just made. To get back at him the Nelsons give Joe an equally bad painting that Ozzie did.
