All-Star review was a weekly hour-long variety program airing on NBC from 1951 – 1953. This was an opportunity for performers who were popular on the radio to make the transition to television.
Originally called Four Star Revue, the program featured four well-known comedians as rotating hosts. Like a vaudeville show or stage revue, the program would begin with a comedy routine by that week’s host, and then would go on to include other entertainment provided by actors, singers, dancers, acrobats, etc.
After the first season the program was re-named All-Star Revue and included additional hosts in the rotation.
