Cast: Gabby Hayes
The Gabby Hayes Show is a general purpose Western television series in which the film star and Roy Rogers confidante, George 'Gabby' Hayes (1885–1969), narrated each episode, intended primarily for a children's audience. It aired from December 11, 1950 to January 1, 1954. Set at the Double Bar M Ranch, the grizzly ol' Gabby Hayes hosted stories of the American West with vintage film clips of classic cowboys like Tex Ritter, Tim Holt, and Gene Autry. Some of his classic aunt stories were about Calamity Jane Hayes and Spic and Span Hayes. Among his numerous uncles Gabby talked about there was Chuckwagon Hayes, Deadshot Hayes, Lariat Hayes, Locomotive Hayes, Six-Gun Hayes and Twinkle Toes Hayes
Cowboy and Western legend George 'Gabby' Hayes, who spent his entire acting career as a sidekick to stars such as John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Randolph Scott and others, spins folk tales and shows excerpts from famous Western movies in the early days of television.
“Well howdy buckaroos! It's your old pal Gabby Hayes, with another rip roarin' western yarn!”. That is how the lovable Hayes would begin each TV show. Featuring rapid edits of 1930's and 1940's Westerns starring Buster Crabbe, Eddie Dean, Roy Rogers, and others.
