20 Questions was a very popular parlor game in the 1940’s, and was a radio program from 1946 – 1954. In 1949 the game was produced for television, airing until 1955.
The game included a host who introduced the questions to the panel and the panelists who had up to 20 yes-or-no answer questions they could ask to determine the object. The opening question would usually start with the very basic, “is it animal, vegetable or mineral?”
Different personalities and stars of the era were frequently included as one of the panelists, along with the regular cast.
