Set in England and France in 1792, this adaption of the 1905 novel stays true to the original dialogue.  Sir Percey Blakeney adopts a foppish persona in order to work in Revolutionary France saving the innocent from the terror of the guillotine.  His identity as the Scarlet Pimpernel is a closely guarded secret known only to his closest confidantes who assist in his daring rescues and protect him from those who would see his head next on the chopping block.
