Crime Does Not Pay was a series of crime dramas featuring radio adaptations of MGM's series of short films.  The show was created for MGM's radio affiliate, WMGM in New York, where it ran for two years (49-51) before moving to the Mutual Broadcasting System for the remainder of the show 's run in 1952.

Being owned by MGM, the station was occasionally able to get some of MGM's A-list actors to star in the radio adaptations.  Some of these stars include Bela Lugosi, Everett Sloane and Ed Begley.
