Henry Morgan Show
(1940-1950)
Comedy
Cast: Henry Morgan
This show was a 15-minute comedy, which opened almost invariably with "Good evening, anybody; here's Morgan.” Before Howard Stern there was Henry Morgan. An American comedian, Morgan first became familiar for his barbed but often self-deprecating satire. He was incredibly witty, and had a lightning fast sense of improvisation, with much of his show performed off the cuff. His weekly barrage of slanderous comments towards his sponsors, mainly to either spite his executives or to whet his appetite for the outrageous, fascinated the audience's attention and brought them back week after week.
