Adventure / Western

Sponsored by 20 Mule Team Borax

In 1930 recent graduate Ruth Woodman was approached to write a radio show about the history of California's Death Valley and its people.  Although Ruth was from New York and knew nothing about Death Valley , she undertook the project with gusto.  Ruth travelled to Death Valley and spent several months out of every year travelling, researching, backpacking into Death Valley , talking to the locals and reading old newspapers from the area in search of every story opportunity she could find.

The result of her extensive research is one of the most respected and endearing shows in the history or radio and television.   Death Valley Days ran for 15 years on the radio and for 23 years on television, for a total of 38 years of programming.
