For fans of American baseball, this is a selection of various short recordings from radio.

Here you can hear a recording of the complete “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” anthem, circa 1908.  And there is also an abbreviated version, led by Harry Caray, legendary baseball game announcer.

Other recordings to listen to are:

Abbott and Costello ’s “Who’s on First? ” classic comedy routine

A recitation of “Casey at the Bat

“The Shot Heard ‘Round the World”, a recording of the moment when Giants’ outfielder Bobby Thomson hit his game-ending, World Series-winning homerun against the Dodgers’ Ralph Branca.

“Talkin’ Baseball”, written by Terry Cashman, the ‘Balladeer of Baseball’.  Recordings are included of several versions, ranging from “Willie, Mickey , and the Duke” to his versions about the Blue Jays, the Tigers, the Giants, the Cardinals, and several others.
