Steve Everett is a journalist from the Oakland Tribune who loves women and alcohol. He is assigned to cover the forthcoming execution of killer Frank Beachum. Bob Findley is Steve’s boss who also happens to be the husband to Steve’s present lover. Findley wants Beachum dead, but Steve finds some evidence that could prove Beachum might be innocent. He only has a few hours left to prove his facts.
