Rose DeWitt Bukater is a 100-year old woman telling the story of her experience in the Titanic 84 years later to her granddaughter Lizzy Calvert and friends. She came from the upper-class and was traveling with her mother Ruth and fiance, Caledon 'Cal' Hockley. Rose begins telling the story of how she met vagrant and artist named Jack Dawson, who won third-class tickets with his best friend Fabrizio De Rossi in a game. They fall deeply in love and from there she tells the rest of the story.
