Toby McTeague is a teenager living in northern Canada, with his father and brother, who is raising sled dogs with the hopes of winning a prestigious sled-dog race. When times grow tough for the family, the relationship between Toby and his father becomes strained to the point where Toby runs away, which threatens his plans to enter the race. It takes the intervention of an old family friend to bring the father and son together and save Toby’s chance to race for the championship.
