An Agatha Christie Mystery, This film is set in the year of 1953 in a small village named St. Mary Mead in England. The famous actresses Marina Rudd and Lola Brewster are going to be playing these women in the film. Marina is not happy when she realizes Lola is going to be starring in the film as well, for they despise each other. To make matters worse, Marina has been receiving death letters. During a party, Heather Babcock has a drink intended for Marina and dies from the poison. Inspector Craddock requests the help of his aunt, Miss Marple to investigate more on the case.
The title is portion of a line from The Lady of Shalott by the English poet Alfred Lord Tennyson:
Out flew the web and floated wide--
The mirror crack'd from side to side;
"The curse is come upon me", cried
The Lady of Shalott.
