Michael, Steven and Nick are young men who leave their factory jobs in Pennsylvania to fight the war in Vietnam. Steve marries his pregnant girlfriend, Angela before they leave. The three friends go through many trials and tribulations during the war and are imprisoned by the Vietcong.
