Bandit and Cledus are two truck drivers from the south who take on a dare to from Big and Little Enos to drive a shipment of beer from Texas and have it to them by a specific time. Everything is going smoothly until Bandit decides to pick up a woman hitchhiking named Carrie who left her groom Junior at the altar. Junior is the son of Sheriff Buford T. Justice, so they immediately go after the two when they find out what has happened.
