The humerous story of a professor (Richard Benjamin) who decides to take a cross-country road trip during the height of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis , rather than wait to die. The professor drives from Long Island to Los Angeles, stopping in Las Vegas along the way. As he travels, he assumes different humerous identities in his interactions with the people he meets. The story is captured in a number of short episodes, as the professor acts out his fantasies with increasing abandon.
