During his stay there he encounters Terry who hates to work and ridicules his laziness. Dewey ends up finding work at a gas station that pays him $1.00 an hour and finds a new home in a rooming house. After a night of heavy rain , he encounters Shelly, who has escaped the grip of Joanne the harlot when she sets her up on a double date. Dewey persuades the authority that Shelley is related to him being his sister and they leave her under his care. She remains under his care sleeping on his sofa and they become very close, starting to fall for one another.
On the other side Deannie, is having a problem with her irritable mother Lynn Bari who is always reminding her on things she needs to do. This results in her running away from home to the big city of Chicago. There she encounters Loch who is a musician that is a bit controlling. She decides to move into his place, yet starts to feel attracted to his roommate Curly. Loch discovers the two of them in bed together one night and abuses the both of them violently. More problems arise from this situation.
