During 16th century in England Sir Thomas More was a man full of life. The film takes a close look at the last seven years of chancellor's life and focuses on the conflict he had with King Henry VIII. Henry was determined to finish with Rome, for he wanted to divorce his wife to marry again. More being a loyal Catholic did not want to be part of his plan so he surrendered his title, wanting to live his life privately. Yet Henry disagreed with More and wanted him to admit his surrender as chancellor to the public.
