Conrad Birdie is the most popular rock and roll star of the 60s.  Albert has big aspirations to be a song writer and feels if he gets Conrad on the Ed Sullivan show to kiss a high school girl goodbye, he can make money and finally marry his girlfriend Rosie.  The problem is his mother is determined to break the two up.
