During the 19th century, the Czar is looking to expand the Russian empire, so his forces have been conquering nearby countries.  When the Czar’s Cossacks begin to invade the Caucasus region, a young warrior decides to stand up to them and fight them off.  This warrior gathers the fighting men in his region and organizes them into an army hoping to drive off the invaders from Russia.  This tale is loosely based upon a story written by famous author Leo Tolstoy.
