February 3, 1959 will go down in history as "The Day the Music Died" which is when Rock 'n Roll lost three of its favorite sons --  Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson, 'The Big Bopper'!

En route to North Dakota for a concert, the plane the trio was traveling in crashed due to bad weather on a farm in Iowa.  The pilot of the plane was also killed in the crash.
