The Matchmaker trailer
The film is set in Yonkers, New York in 1884, where Dolly Gallagher-Levi has talents in many areas, but her newest and most profitable job is as a matchmaker. She sets up men with woman, but they have to have marriage on their mind. She finds it strange that this is her new job, considering she was married before but not happy. Horace Vandergelder is a stingy man who goes to Dolly for help. He abuses his two employees Cornelius and Barnaby with work and will not provide them with a day off. They decide to close the store down for a day and go to New York to find girls. There Cornelius finds Irene whom he is attracted to. Problem is she may be Horace’s bride one day.
