Duke and Freddie steal car accessories for a living, selling them on the black market. Duke’s girlfriend, Peg, tries to convince him to stop his life of crime. He becomes angered by her attempts, and decides to race alongside another girl, Janice. During their race, Janice runs into a police officer, killing him. She is held, but takes down Duke’s license plate number. Fearing he will be discovered, Duke kills Janice, persuades Peg to come with him, and flees town. He is eventually shot down by the police, who discover that he has been on a crooked path since policemen beat him when he was younger.
