Rich Mississippi plantation owner Big Daddy Pollitt has no idea that he is dying of cancer. He is agitated by the uncomfortable and childless marriage of his favorite son Brick, who is an alcoholic and other son Gooper, whose wife is about to give birth to another 'no-neck monster'. He goes on to celebrate his sixty-fifth birthday with his family.

Brick's wife, Maggie, gorgeous and gratifying, fails when she attempts to persuade her husband to leave the bottle, at the same time alluring him and tormenting him about his delusion with his dead best friend and the indiscretion about their relationship.
