Kim Novak plays a modern-day witch named Gillian Holroyd who lives in New York. She becomes interested in a handsome publisher named Shep Henderson, played by James Stewart, but he’s about to marry Merle Kittridge. Gillian is not fond of Kittridge who used to go to college with her, so Gillian casts a spell over Shep, but her powers might be in danger.
