A group of German soldiers on the Russian front are hit by a numerous amount of monstrosities and catastrophe due to the war, until Private Ernst Graeber finally comes to them. When he returns back to Germany, he does not find his home for it has been destroyed by the bombs. He desperately searches for his parents and ends up finding the beautiful Elizabeth Kruse. Her father is a political prisoner and they both work together in surviving such a hateful war.
