Peter and Kimani come from different races, yet grew up together and soon find out they are treated differently because of their race. Kimani units with a rebel group after his father is sent to prison. The rebel group wants non-Kenyans out of their country and will kill women, children, and those who do not side with them. Kimani disagrees with this part of the group. Peter wants nothing but peace, even though his younger sister and brother were killed by the Mau Mau. He needs to convince Kimani to see his side.
