Manny is a string bassist who makes only $85 a week playing at the Stork Club . He is dedicated to his family and religion. He begins to have monetary problems after and goes to the insurance office to see if they can lend him money from his wife’s insurance policy. Yet, when goes to the office, the employees point him out as the man who stole money from them a couple of months ago. Manny answers the police’s questions, for he knows he is innocent. But the more he deals with them, the more he appears guilty.
