Lance Caldwell is an army officer sent to Fort King in the Everglades. He instantly gets into an altercation with his commanding officer Major Dade. Caldwell does not agree with Dade’s plan to destroy the Seminole Indians. He has a history with Seminole chief Osceola and has no interest in supporting this genocide plan. A battle occurs, leaving many dead from both parties. Osceola comes to Caldwell’s rescue, but is later killed when he arrives at Fort King to talk peace. They try to frame Caldwell with the murder.
