Mary Adams works in a gaudy waterfront restaurant. The owner does not treat her well and took money from her father years ago. The owner receives $25,000 in which Mary robs and hides to later go to the authorities to admit she took the money. She goes to jail for a short period and finds a job in another restaurant owned by Dragomie Damitrod. She lends him money after he owes money for gambling, but soon realizes he has taken all of the money.
