The film takes place during 1888 in London where a third Jack the Ripper murder has taken place. Mr. Slade is a quiet research pathologist who begins to live with the Harleys and uses their dark attic for his experiments. Mrs. Harley starts to become suspicious of Slade, while her niece, Lily, finds him intriguing and handsome.
